Activities

"Rede Brasileira de Educação Ambiental" (Brazilian Environmental Education Network) - ECOAR participates in the coordination of the Rede Brasileira de Educação Ambiental, (Brazilian Network of Environmental Education) since 1992 (together with other environmental organizations in Brazil), and to support, consolidate and amplify the Network, ECOAR associated itself to CECAE (Executive Coordination on University and Special Activities Cooperation). The network develops the following activities: 1) Communication Project 2) Environmental Education Diagnosis in Brazil 3) Organization of Forums in Environmental Education in the national sphere, and of the Brazilian Network meetings on Environmental Education.

Rede Paulista de Educação Ambiental (São Paulo Network on Environmental Education) - Ecoar participates on REPEA, contributing to the promotion of EE state encounters, in the exchange of information among environmental educators in S‹o Paulo State. REPEAÕs activities encompass: 1) Communication Project 2) Articulation and promotion of debates on themes, participation in the elaboration of public policies in the area.

II III e IV Fóruns de Educação Ambiental (II III and IV Forums on Environmental Education) - ECOAR has organized, in partnership with other institutions, the II III and IV Forums on Environmental Education, which took place in 1992 and 1994 in S‹o Paulo and in 1997 in Esp’rito Santo, gathering approximately 2.500 people. These events lasted 80 hours, offering around 60 courses and workshops, 30 round-table discussions and presenting 300 works in the environmental education sphere.

Encontros Pré-Fórum de Educação Ambiental (Pre-Forum Encounters on Environmental Education) - ECOAR participated in the organization of the EE Pre-Forum Encounters, that took place in May and June of 1997 in S‹o Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais. These meetings counted with the participation of 450 registered participants and objectified the preparation of the IV EE Forum southeast stage, that took place in August 1997, in Guarapari-ES.

Jornada Internacional de Educação Ambiental (International Journey on Environmental Education) - the coordinators of ECOAR worked in the organization of the International Journey on Environmental Education in the Global Forum of Rio 92, which formulated the Treaty on Environmental Education to Sustainable Societies and Global Responsibility.

Linha Editorial (Editorial Line) - includes the creation of an editorial line on environmental education through a term of agreement with the Publisher Gaia Global Ltda. Publications: Manual Latino Americano de Educ-Ação Ambiental,(Latin American Manual On Environmental Education) "Cadernos do II Fórum" (Notebooks from the II Forum), " Avaliando a Educação Ambiental: materiais impressos", (Evaluating Environmental Education: printed material)" Avaliando a Educação Ambiental: materiais audio-visuais"(Evaluating Environmental Education: Audiovisual Material)
